Program Description
Families First (formerly AFDC) Tennessee's new welfare reform program, which is a temporary cash assistance program emphasizing work, training, and personal responsibility. Job readiness activities, job training, education, job development, placement assistance, child care and a variety of other support services are available to assist welfare recipients.
Food Stamps Coupons, available to low-income individuals or families, that may be used to purchase food or seeds to grow food.
Child Support Services to help families locate absent parents, obtain child support, enforce child support orders, or establish paternity.
Medicaid/TennCare Tennessee's medical assistance program, which provides health care for low-income individuals and families who otherwise could not afford it.

Community and Field Services

Child Care Resource and Referral Service Personalized and detailed information to parents searching for child care.
Child Care Assistance For low-income families, assistance for purchasing child care while the parents are working, enrolled in job related training programs or seeking employment.
Child Care Licensing Assistance to persons wanting to establish a child care center, receive licensing, or file a child care complaint.
Adult Protective Services Services to adults who are abused, neglected, or financially exploited and unable to protect themselves due to mental or physical disabilities or advanced age.
